Location Spotlight: Chasing the Golden Hour
A great location is like a second subject in a photo. When I’m scouting for new shoots, I look for “texture”—brick walls, tall grass, or architectural lines that lead the eye toward the person in the frame.
The most important factor, however, is how that location handles the sun. A park with high trees might lose its light an hour earlier than an open field. Always scout your location at the exact time you plan to shoot to see where the shadows fall. This attention to detail is what separates a snapshot from a professional portrait.
